Building Faith – One Block at a Time

This devotional is for disciples, followers of Jesus. If you are a disciple, grow-ing in your faith is important to you. The purpose of this devotional is to pre-sent basic concepts that will help you become a mature follower of Christ.

Disciples don’t just happen, they are made. Growing in your faith takes dedi-cation, discipline, and persistence. It helps to know what’s important, what to focus on. This devotional presents truths that are important for all disciples to grasp. As you understand and assimilate them, you’ll find the Holy Spirit working in you, building a strong foundation of truth that will sustain you through the good, the bad, and the ugly experiences we all have in life.

Each devotional focuses on a concept in one of three categories:
• What a disciple should know
• What a disciple should become
• What a disciple should do

Concepts are introduced along with scriptural basis for each one. Each is fol-lowed by a section where you can write down what you learned, what you heard the Holy Spirit say to you, and how he wants you to incorporate the concept in
your daily walk with him.

These truths are meant for application. Application is the next step after un-derstanding. Too many people understand and agree with scripture, but they don’t take the final step of putting what they learn into practice, and there-fore miss out on the blessing contained in the word. They don’t experience its power to transform a life, which is what God is after (Romans 12:1-2).

As you go through this devotional, allow the Holy Spiri to speak to you about the transformation he wants to bring to your life. Get alone with God while you read through each lesson. Put the phone down and shut the door on the noise for a while so you maximize your ability to hear. Trust that the power inherent in the word of the Lord will be released as you apply truth to life. May God give you his Spirit of wisdom and revelation in greater measure so you know the hope of your calling, the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and the greatness of his power to those who believe.
